𝖜𝖔𝖗𝖒 𝖒𝖊𝖆𝖑 After having listened to "Drawn With Shadow Pens" many times this new album sounds less chaotic but just as good, if not better. I thought he had quite a grip on his sound design skills already but maybe he was just booting up.
Favorite track: It's a tie between "Vecto" and "Contrary Unto Them"

Finn of Tomland I like what Yves does a lot and in particular how his music has progressed over the years, with each release he has honed his skills and craftsmanship in sound design and production even further and by that taking it to the next level release by release.
And this wonderful album is not an exception to the rule because it's filled to the brim with lovely experimentalism.
Highly recommended! Favorite track: Bleak Comfort.

about

Following up ‘Drawn With Shadow’ Pens released via Spectrum Spools, Belgian sound artist Yves De Mey returns with ‘Bleak Comfort’, his third solo full-length. All geared towards serving up an intense musical experience, the album deconstructs regular club music recipes to highlight some of its key elements in a transformative way.

An album about absence, malfunction and disorientation, ‘Bleak Comfort’ is equally packed with floor-functional material and left-of-centre electronics. By turn sizzling and spherical, convulsive and atmospheric, Yves De Mey ushers his listener in a hypnotic kaleidoscope of sounds, providing a fascinating picture of his ever dynamic grammar at variable scales and tempos.
